Cuero Community Foundation Matching Fund Supporting DeWitt Co. Food Banks Contributes Over $54K to Date

Cuero, TX— Cuero Community Foundation (CCF) presented a check of $13,500 to CAMAL (Cuero Area Ministerial Alliance) House of Cuero on Friday, May 22nd. This check was an accumulation of funds raised and matched over the past week for the Cuero Community Foundation’s Food Pantry Matching Fund. The organization will continue to match funds up to $100,000 for the three food pantries in DeWitt County.


Cuero Community Foundation also presented checks to Yorktown’s Y.A.M. food pantry in the amount of $4,500 and Yoakum’s First Baptist Food Pantry in the amount of $3,500. Total amount contributed to the three area food pantries for the week ending on May 22nd was $21,500.


Total raised and matched to date for the three food pantries is $54,233.92. Cuero Community Foundation will match up to $100,000 total and is pleased to see just weeks after launching, they are a quarter of the way to their goal.

“We are thankful that many in the community, including area businesses, have taken the initiative to give to this matching fund to help feed our neighbors that are struggling. We urge those that wish to contribute to do so in order to match funds immediately and get the financial resources to our area food pantries in their time of need,” said Bill Blackwell, Cuero Community Foundation President.


Cuero Community Foundation will match up to $100,000 to the three area food pantries per their matching fund.
